SHEOAKS
Sheoaks is a stunning four bedroomed rammed earth home that is thoughtfully set out to accommodate families. Positioned into the hill overlooking the gorgeous Snellings Beach, Sheoaks is only a five-minute walk away with vast views to the beach and beyond. There is a well appointed self-contained main suite to delight the parents and a king bedroom and a single bedroom on the opposite side of the property.  At the back you will find another bedroom with a single and a trundle. Plenty of space for the family to enjoy.  A circular elevated day bed is just made for relaxing with your loved ones, a wood fire to keep you cosy through winter and a screened outdoor patio for insect-free dining through summer, Sheoaks has something for every season.
Configuration: 1 x bedroom with King Bed, 1 x bedroom with King Bed, 1 x King Single and 1 x single with a trundle in the other bedroom. Sleeps a maximum of seven guests.
The house contains three bathrooms, kitchen & laundry, and has a deck and screened dining area. Sheoaks has everything you need for a relaxing time on Kangaroo Island. Sorry - no pets

GETTING HERE & ARRIVAL:

Sheoaks and Settlers has 2 luxury holiday homes situated around Snellings beach. Please be clear of the house name you are staying at, including the roadside number* – It will be the Settlers Cottage (*6015), Sheoaks (6025),
A black cockatoo square sign with the house name is at the drive entrance on the North Coast rd (see driving directions below).
CATERING & RESTAURANTS:
- Gourmet food hampers. You are able to book a food hamper with Kate Sumner from Kangaroo Island Source. contact her on www.kangarooislandsource.com.au Phone: 0412 194 840 or email her on kisource@bigpond.com. All hamper bookings must be made in advance.
- Another option for hampers is Gastronomo Dining – these are available from November to March – may be seasonally adjusted www.gastronomodining.com.au
- Other restaurants and food outlets are a 20min drive from us.
FOOD SUPPLIES:
The nearest town to Snellings Beach is Parndana (20 minutes) that has very limited and basic supplies. Petrol, bottle shop and two small general stores. If forgotten, some items can be bought there on the way out to Snellings Beach.
- If coming from the ferry you can buy supplies from Penneshaw (small supermarket, bottle shop, petrol) but remember it’s a 1 ½ hr drive to us so if time permits we advise you buy supplies from Kingscote on the way through (20 min extra on the trip).
Kingscote is 10 min from the airport and the main service and shopping centre for Kangaroo Island. Shops include supermarket (Drakes Foodland) service stations, butcher, hardware, pharmacy.
SUPPLIES PROVIDED IN HOUSE:
Each house is stocked with a number of complimentary items for you to use & sample. This includes:
Coffee pods, table sugar, salt, pepper & grinder, honey, oil, foil, glad wrap, tea towels, dish washing & laundry detergent and bathroom products are also included along with all linen.

Helen's place was spectacular!
Helen's place was spectacular. Although it is located at a secluded location (a bit far from the town) on an unsealed road, the views from the place are to die for and the house is cosy, clean and just like the pictures. Helen gave us clear driving instructions to the house (one mistake in the instructions is that the house is at 6025, not 6026). The house is located within walking distance to a stunning beach. It had all amenities provided and a well-stocked kitchen. Truly felt I was on a holiday staying here. Would definitely recommend others to stay here if coming to Kangaroo Island for a few days.. This house was amazing!
This house was amazing! We loved the view of course, it is even better than it looks in the photos. WiFi and cell service worked fin at the house. You do lose cell signal sometimes along the roads but it comes and goes.The beds are very comfortable, and lots of wildlife right on the property. Super fun! Besides the kangaroos, there are glossy black cockatoos that fly around (which only live on the island and are very rare). We also saw koalas in the trees down the road.Don't forget to put water in the birdbaths. You'll see lots of cute things!The beach is basically right across the street and is a beautiful place to visit.. Also highly recommend going to Stokes Bay (and Rock Pool Cafe), go through the tunnel to the actual beach. Very very cool.Awesome jumping off point to sightsee on the entire island. Don't be afraid of the dirt roads. You can't really avoid them on the island at all. So might as well stay in a beautiful spot like this!Highly highly recommend!

We loved this stay!
We loved this stay, the location was stunning and the house was wonderful. Exactly as described and the views were unreal. We were lucky enough to see so much, in terms of wildlife (including an Echidna just behind the house) and access to the beach so close by was fantastic. Highly recommend. The house itself is gorgeous, super comfortable for our group with amazing views from all rooms. We will definitely come back!
perfect holiday home getaway
It was the perfect holiday home getaway from the city, everything was perfect and such a great treat experiencing the peace and serenity in her beautiful place.
Helen's place was amazing
Helen's place was amazing. I couldn't think of a better base for exploring kangaroo island. Middle River is beautiful - more sheltered than the south coast, and half way along the island making it easy to access both East and West halves of the island. The views from Helens place were great, and lovely to be able to walk down onto Snellings beach for a beach walk before/after a day of exploring.
